JOHOR BARU, Nov 7 – Johor Menteri Besar Datuk Abdul Ghani Othman declined to comment as to whether Iskandar Region Development Authority (IRDA) chief executive officer Harun Johari would be resigning from the post.
Abdul Ghani, who is also the co-chairman of the authority with Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak, was asked on a news report that Harun had tendered his resignation letter.
He said he would watch developments on the matter over the next few months. Earlier, he had witnessed the signing of an agreement between Khazanah Nasional’s Themes and Resorts Attraction Sdn Bhd (TAR) and five other partners for the construction of an indoor theme park in Iskandar Malaysia, here, today.
Recently, The Malaysian Insider reported that Harun, who was formerly with Pelabuhan Tanjung Pelepas (PTP), would be leaving IRDA at the end of this year.
IRDA, in responding to the report, issued a three-paragraph statement denying the matter and stated that Harun was not resigning and would carry out his duties as the CEO of IRDA as usual. – Bernama
