Masks, thermometers for UPSR candidates in Pahang

TEMERLOH, Sept 2 – Masks and thermometers will be distributed to the 28,266 pupils in Pahang who will be sitting for the Ujian Pencapaian Sekolah Rendah (UPSR) from Sept 8 to 10, to assist in preventing Influenza A (H1N1) infection.

Pahang Education director Datuk Abdul Aziz Abdul Latiff said each pupil would be screened prior to entering the examination hall.

“If any of them show signs of H1N1 infection they will be separated to ensure the examination runs smoothly,” he told reporters after a handing over masks and thermometers to 11 district education officers, here today.

He said the Pahang Education Deparment had allocated RM326,600 for their purchase and RM245,000 to carry out screening tests at 546 examination centres statewide. – Bernama
