Mr Rais should first tell his intended audience themselves NOT to abuse and misuse the religion they claimed to profess.

It is an abuse of the religion if they use the name of the religion while carrying a cow head to protest the relocation of a 150 year old temple.

It is an abuse of the religion to use news media to create racial tension and hatred.

It is an abuse of the religion to abuse the trust placed on them to run the states and nation and then to plunder its coffers.

It is an abuse of the religion to lord over others and call them names such as pendatang, or to claim ketuanan for themselves, as everyone is equal before God.

It is an abuse of the religion to keep only the good things for themselves and to dish out the crumbs or leftovers to others. God forbids!

It is an abuse of the religion to deny others the inalienable right to learn about the religion, while they themselves helped themselves to the religion, thereby treating the religion as their worldly possession!
Again, God forbids!

Strange, strange, strange! Why not ban the Koran from all non Muslims from reading it by announcing those non Muslims who keep a copy of Koran be sentenced to death.

Strange! Is he saying that the good values and morals taught in Islam are not universally applicable to people?

How is it misusing Islam if the quotation is to explain a good point? More to the point, how does an individual learn to understand Islam if the individual does not attempt to study and understand Islam?

If Islamic teachings are used by non-Muslims, it is a credit to Islam.

That's why they never progress. They act as though their faith is such an exclusive club that other people can't even mention some verses from their holy book. How narrow minded and backward thinking.
Are we progressing or regressing?

Rais should stop using the language of the infidel to say anything about Islam or Muslims. After all it was in this language that he wrote his thesis on ISA and got his Doctorate and later took a position quite opposite what he wrote. Maybe his excuse was that it was not in the national language or the language of the Prophet so really he had not betrayed anything. (Well, if that is not logical then it is as illogical as his present statement!)

Abang Yatim, we know you are desperate and trying very hard to make yourself relevent. Unfortunately, and the truth is you had already written yourself off and had shown your true nature to the rakyat by your selfish and goofy attitute all these while. Its always nothing good coming out from that foul mouth of yours. You should stay home and reflex on the true nature of Islam and what it demands of all true muslim.

Dear Dr. Rais, do you want to know what "misuse" of Islam is?

Take your ex-colleague, Syed Hamid Albar. On 12.09.2008, he caused to be arrested YM Raja Petra Kamarudin under the ISA for allegedly insulting Islam. RPK was never given an opportunity to clear his name in a trial before a court of law. Isn't this in itself an affront to the principles of fair play and justice that Islam stands for?

On 07.11.2008, RPK was freed by a writ of habeas corpus. The learned Judge held that Syed Hamid did not have the jurisdiction to detain RPK for allegedly insulting Islam. In other words, Syed Hamid acted without basis in fact or in law. And he was the Home Minister. If this is not a misuse of Islam, the pious caliphs would turn in their tombs!

As you can see, there is ample precedent for your consideration. Perhaps there is a device you could use. I know it as a mirror...
