Weather red alert lifted in Kelantan, Terengganu

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 7 – The weather red alerts in Kelantan and Terengganu, issued by the Meteorological Department yesterday, has been removed today.

In a statement, the department said the removal included the orange-level weather alert in other areas in Terengganu and yellow-level weather alert in Perlis, Kedah, Northern Perak and Pahang.

The red-level weather warning referred to incidences of tropical storm and strong winds of at least 60km per hour with moderate to heavy rain and could cause flooding in low-lying areas, the statement said.

The orange-level alert refers to moderate monsoon rain with wind speeds between 50-60km per hour while yellow-level weather refers to moderate rain and occasional heavy rain in the next 24 to 48 hours. – Bernama
