PUTRAJAYA, Nov 13 – The Home Ministry has met three of four of its Key Performance Index (KPI) targets two months in advance, said its minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Tun Hussein.
Among the KPI targets achieved were on the pending applications for citizenship, entry permits and delayed registration of births.
Speaking to reporters after chairing the ministry’s post-Cabinet meeting today, Hishammuddin said the number of pending applications for citizenship resolved was 32,927, 16,812 for entry permits and 93,360 birth certificates.
“This means that out of the four KPIs, three have been met as of today and the other concerns the proposed amendments to the Internal Security Act,” he said. He also said that the ministry would focus on the National Key Result Area (NKRA) of reducing crime rates in the country, especially that of street crimes.
Hishammuddin said combating crime was not only the police’s responsibility, but also involved the Attorney-General’s Office, courts, prisons and the National Anti-Drug Agency.
On the ministry’s target after the achieving the KPIs, he said he would intensify efforts to ascertain the status of foreign nationals in the country.
“This will involve everybody at all levels, from the issuing of tourist visas, student visas to work permits. This is our main agenda, which can be likened to the NKRA and KPI,” he added. – Bernama

1. Probing of all crime, white, blue collar without fear of favour. Malaysian want to know the outcome of Kugan + TBH death , Port Klang FTZ and Double Tracking fiasco plus the correct Lingam case. Of course, the cow head incident and the palatial mansion of the Javanese immigrant cannot be brushed aside.
2. KPI on Ministers like Nazri, DPM making all kind of funny comments. Are these fellas exempted from KPI accountability? Perhaps come out with a score card on how many time they speak , and how much garbage comes out.
3. Mega billion dollar scandals like the Aminah's case, scorpene submarine, and Perak fiasco. RPK reports mega payout to the Royalty. Is there a KPI for these?
4. Billions of dollars wasted in unnecessary wastages from projects?
5. Transparency in our judiciary and Police. Rakyat want to see the KPI's, how it is measured and methods of arriving at decisions, expecially when the law books says something, and the outcome is totally opposite, always to the rascals favour.
6. Until you can prove yourself, Keris, I hope you just keep your mouth shut.
Malaysian's are keeping our own KPI's on you fellows, and I believe based on a detailed study and analysis, most of you will fail badly. Get some of the MBA's and Phd' holders (leave out Pangkor), and let them come out with a study using a combination of methods, although the results will probably end in the waste bin.
Being a Phd holder and a lecturer, the only thing I must say is God Bless Malaysia. We are truly going to the dogs, we are probably already there.
