I agree with Shah Alam MP Khalid Samad said that "Allah" was not only for Muslims but also for the entire universe.

Universally, the word Allah is not exclusive to anyone. Only in Malaysia, such thing could become a crisis. This is really unnecessary. A lot of Malays just could not get out of the psyche moulded by ultras/extremists in UMNO over the years. This is a challenge. The Malays must learn to accept this. Perhaps they should see this from the angle of assimilation. Non Malays now want to use 'local' words to describe their Gods. Strategically, the Prime Minister's Department should not make such an appeal. The Government should leave it to the NGOs or some other bodies. The Government should stay neutral. Najib has to remember the world is watching.

Here Nik Aziz stand tall and he is the best person to proclaim 1malaysia rather than that najib.He is a true muslim who is more happy to share Allah with anyone who believe in HIM.Long live Nik Aziz and down with umno the racist.

In fact, as a muslim, I am proud that The Herald uses "Allah".

It's as if there's recognition that the word "Allah", that most people in the world relate to the Islamic God, is used in The Herald's context as well, in reference to the god in Christianity.

Why no one is telling West Malaysians that Christians in Sabah and Sarawak have used Allah since before Malaysia Day in 1963! Stop religious bigotry now! Where are the voices of Christian leaders in the government? Ronald Kiandee, Bernard Dompok, Maximus Ongkili, Pairin Kitingan.... where are you?

Tok Guru is very confident of his religion. His belief is from his heart. His faith is unshaken.

UMNO will exploit the weak minded, the unknowledgeable and uninformed, and instigate the intolerants. They will create confusions and angers and hope to exploit the unrest. Some of the former leaders and other with little credibility hope to exploit and seize power.

I am saddened to hear the news from TV on the demonstrations and protests over the issue of " Allah". Pls do not let this issue blown out of proportion. As I come from Kampung, I had only good memories of playing and studying together with Malay friends from secondary school right up to pre university education. It was only where I work in KL that I noticed so much politicking on racial related issues.

We trust our country leaders have the wisdom to resolve this issue urgently. Is Racial Harmony one of NKRA and which has been given adequate emphasis???

After reading akee, he is correct. Allah is in Jawa, and ALL people has been using it since eons ago.

The courts decision should not be questioned by anyone. Yet we see some people demonstrating against it and using seditious words. They are in contempt of court as well as infriged on the Seditious Act, and illegal assembly Act. Despite breaking the LAW the authorities seem to be blind and no action taken against the offenders.

Why the discrimination in the enforcement of the Rule of Law. Is this what 1Malaysia is all about?????

Unity cannot be achieved by mere slogans. You must practice what you preach. The rule of law must be enforced without fear or favour. Otherwise remove the slogan 1Malaysia, and replace it with 2Malaysia which reflects the present situation in Malaysia.

We more knowledgeable scholar like Nik Aziz to state their views publicly to defuse the tensions building up. Yes , a dialogue to explain all to all Malaysians would help to clarify and calm down the Muslims.

Too much is already wasted over this matter. Our PM should be brave to state his opinion and face the consequence of it. If he is true and faithful as our PM , he should sacrifice even his life for this nation.

Obviously, some Muslims are oversensitive over the court ruling. It involves their religion, so, naturally, they are upset. This is religious issue, nothing racial. Fair minded Malaysians are expected to exercise so restraints in certain situations.

True, we are free to express our opinions, but we need to have tact. Hit and run remarks may not do us any good. We respect other's opinions, we Muslims do respect the opinions of Christians, but Muslims too have some opinions. People can charge others as being bias, but they themselves maybe bias too? If we really care, all that's needed is to be balance. Lies are definitely evil! But there are many.

This issue IS certainly delicate. And sticky as greese. But what are we, mechanics?

I have to agree Muslims shouldn't be oversensitive over the ruling. As I seet it, the Catholics are proclaiming their belief in Allah, as the God for Christians too, which is good! And indeed it's true, as Muslims knew too well from the Quran. We are told about the The Taurah, The Zabur, The Injil and The Quran, the four Holy Books from Allah. Yes from ALLAH, the Almighty God of Musa (Moses), Jacob (Yaakob), Ibrahim (Abraham), Isa (Jesus) and Muhammad pbuh. All tehse are told in The Quran by Kalamullah (Words of Allah), Allah The Creator of the Worlds, Adam and Hawa (Eve), The Earth, and everything on the face of the Earth, beneath and above. Christians are saying Allah is THE ONLY God! In a sense, at least, they are WITH us the Muslims, or next to Islam. So what is the problem?

There are however fundamental differences. That Allah is One (Maha Esa) in Islam as opposed to Trinity in Christianity. Muslims submit to no other God but Allah (Yang Tidak Beranak Tidak Diperanakkan). The Christian Trinity factor might be the crux of the problem. But why should it be, it has no bearing on the Muslims' faith. So, leave it at that and move on.

Anyway, I am aware that there are translated versions of the Bible, in which every word "God" has been translated to and written as "Allah". From a bit of research I know there are Malay and Indonesian translated versions of the Bible already in existence for sme decades. Thus, Muslims only need to have faith in Allah! That unshakeable faith in the Quran. The whole truth is all written in The Words of God.

The Malays use Arabic words because they are Muslims, Catholics use Allah because it is 'local'? Anyhow, the concept is still different, we don't say Jesus is the son of Allah (9:30) or Allah Himself (5:72). We don't speak of Allah but the truth (4:171) not the third of three (5:73). hey with this ruling the non muslims can be a step closer to Allah the real god. there should be no problem with the decision. abusing camps, that you have to deal separately with separate ruling.

Admitting that Allah is in fact the God of the Christians pulls the rug from under the Christian zealots.

Malaysia is for all and all religions are equal - this is what Tok Guru has been saying and still doing so. When everything is equal then there is absolutely nothing to worry or get excited. Abuse ceases to exist when everything is equal. May islamic version of muslim "Allah" bless Tuan Guru Nik Aziz. Also may christian "Allah ' bless and save the christians in this country especially in Kelantan.

Kota Baru, Kelantan Mentri Besar Datuk Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat said he was against the use of the word “Allah” by other religions.

He said that it should not be allowed as it could lead to confusion among Muslims.

“As a Muslim we are afraid that the word ‘Allah’ may be exploited to the extent that the Muslims may be confused when the word is used by Christians.

“In the end, the church can be­­come a Christian mosque so it will be better if the authorities stop other religions from using the word ‘Allah’,” he said.

Seriously, how can both MI and The Star can report on the same speech and have two completely different conclusions?! Someone needs to go brush up on their Kelantanese.

Tok Guru had confidence in the muslim community in malaysia. Since the muslim kids started to learn the Koran from as young as 4 years old, if the adult muslim can be influence by the sharing of the word 'Allah ' with those of the christianity faith, something is very very wrong with the teaching of Islam in malaysia, this the government should look into rather than fight over who had the right to use the word "Allah".

Tok Guru still the best leader from PAS.. UMNO needs to learn much from him !

I feel, Herald is in fact showing respect to the religion and is using the word "Allah" as oppose to Islamic God or just the word "God".

Is there a need to bring this to court over the word "Allah"? Is it only in Malaysia, non-muslim is not allowed to speak of the work 'Allah"? Are we going to a situation where, in school, non-muslim while performing a debate and a the word "Allah" is written, but cannot speak of during his/her debate session, and he/she will have to use the word "blink" instead?

Perhaps the UMNO muslims are reading from a different Koran? I see no reference to exclusive use of "Allah" for muslims only.

Instead of just "PAS for all", perhaps PAS should also consider "Allah for all" as their next election slogan.

I'm quite familiar with the history of Abrahamic Religions, and I know the arguments. I know there's only 1 GOD. But, Christianity has a very different concept of GOD as compared to Jews and Muslim. The trinity concept is unaccaptable for both of us. So, really, it's not the same anymore...
