KUCHING, Jan 29 — The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) expects to complete its investigation into the alleged misappropriation in a federal government development project, costing RM6 million, in the state next month.
Its Sarawak director, Samsiah Abu Bakar, said they were waiting for the technical report from experts to finalise the report, and to make it more comprehensive.
“We are still investigating, but it is now in the final stage,” she said when contacted by Bernama.
On Dec 8 last year, then MACC deputy chief commissioner Datuk Abu Kassim Mohamed, who is now chief commissioner, said that its investigation was focused on government officers and contractors involved in the project.
He did not elaborate or identify the project, but said it was a project worth RM6 million. — Bernama
