SEOUL, Nov 12 — Manchester United’s Park Ji-sung has declared himself fit ahead of South Korea’s friendly matches against Denmark and Serbia over the coming week.
The South Korean captain told reporters he had sufficiently recovered from a knee injury to play in Denmark at the weekend and face Serbia in London next Wednesday.
“If possible I want to play in both matches,” Park told the Korea Times on arriving in Denmark.
South Korea looked to be on a collision course with Manchester United manager Alex Ferguson over Park’s call-up for the national side.
The English champions have sent a team physician to work with Park.
“This suggestion came from the physical trainer, not Alex Ferguson,” said Park. “But Ferguson agreed to allow the trainer to come with me.” — Reuters
