Skeletal remains found sealed in oil drum

June 29, 2012

KAJANG, June 29 — A backhoe operator who was clearing a tract of undergrowth in Kampung Baru Balakong near here today, stumbled on a human skeleton inside a cemented oil drum he had scooped.

Earlier, the man broke the cement covering of the oil drum, only to find that it was also cemented on the inside.

The man then broke the second layer of cement and found the skeleton which was clad in clothes and tied up with an electric cable.

Kajang police chief ACP Abdul Rashid Abdul Wahab said the gruesome discovery was made about 11.30am.

He said there were no identification documents on the remains.

“Initial investigations revealed the victim, believed to have been murdered last year, could have been hacked on the neck before being dumped inside the drum,” he said.

The remains were sent to the Serdang Hospital. — Bernama
